When is the best time for a thermal survey?
Building thermal surveys are best conducted during the heating season (October-March) when there is at least a 10°C temperature difference between inside and outside. Surveys should be done before sunrise or after sunset to avoid solar gain.
What qualifications are needed for thermography?
Thermographers should be certified to at least Level 2 under ISO 9712 or the BINDT certification scheme. For building surveys, BS EN 13187 knowledge is essential. For electrical surveys, understanding of BS 7671 is also required.
