Common questions

Do I need a card to try Pro?+
No. Every new account gets Pro free for 14 days, and there is no card at any point. Not to sign up, not to start the trial. A card is only ever needed if you decide to subscribe at the end.
When do the 14 days start, and what happens after?+
They start the moment you save your first certificate, not when you sign up, so the fortnight is spent on real work rather than on an empty account. When it ends you drop back to the Free plan on your own, nothing is charged, and you keep every certificate you have ever made. New PDFs carry the CertBox line again unless you subscribe.
Is the Free plan really free?+
Yes. Create unlimited certificates on the Free plan with no time limit and no card required. Quotes, invoices and card payments are free too. Your data is yours and never expires. Upgrade to Pro when you want your own branding on PDFs, automatic customer reminders, board-scan circuit schedules, or your whole team on one price.
What happens to my certificates if I cancel?+
Your certificates are never deleted. You keep read-only access to view and download everything you created. You revert to the Free plan.
Can I cancel mid-month?+
Yes. Cancel any time from your account page. You keep access until the end of your billing period and are not charged again.
What if a customer does not pay?+
CertBox chases them for you. An unpaid quote gets a follow-up 3 days after you send it, and again after 7. An overdue invoice gets one at 1, 7 and 14 days past the due date. It is free on every plan, and you can switch it off for any single quote or invoice.
Do I need to install anything?+
No. CertBox works in your phone browser. You can also add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.
What does Pro add?+
Your logo on every PDF and the CertBox line off the bottom, automatic renewal reminders sent to your customers, compliance reporting across every property, and your whole team on one flat price.
Is Pro worth it for me?+
Work it out on your own numbers. The renewal reminder exists to stop a customer you have already certified booking someone else next year. Say you issue 100 annual certificates and one in five of those customers drifts away at renewal: that is twenty jobs you did the work to earn and did not get. Pro is £179.88 a year, so on those numbers you need to win back a couple of them to be ahead. We are not claiming a recovery rate — CertBox is new and its first renewals fall due in 2027 — but that is the arithmetic the feature is built on.
Do you offer an annual discount?+
Yes. Paying for the year costs about the same as eight months of paying monthly.
