What does "air-free" CO mean?
CO as-measured is the raw reading in the flue gas sample, which is diluted by excess air. CO air-free is a calculated value that removes the effect of that excess air, giving a reading that reflects the combustion process itself — it is normally higher than the as-measured figure and is the number used for safety thresholds.
